The Dallas Cowboys have had a relatively quiet offseason, but the one major issue lingering over the franchise at the moment is whether or not they would offer quarterback Dak Prescott a contract extension, and if so, how much it would cost.
It is possible that they will choose not to offer Prescott an extension, allowing him to negotiate a new contract after a year as a free agent.
The Cowboys might be better off letting that happen and signing him as a free agent in 2025, according to Chris Broussard of FS1’s “First Things First,” as it would save them some cash.
Is Dak getting paid $60 million a year? It would be preferable for the Cowboys to sign him as a free agent in 2019.
